I’m short-sighted and had to give in to glasses for driving some years ago. When I got Star – see Star and Me – I decided to get contacts mainly for when I rode. I made the mistake of putting them on before doing my hair and when I looked in the mirror I saw a magnified version of myself. Ye Gods, this couldn’t be me…..what a horrible shock. I never made that mistake again. I was always quite ugly but good at disguising it and prefer to believe I’m still damn good for my age. If I could afford a bit of ‘nip and tuck’ I’d be at the BUPA place like a shot. However, I’m having the ‘nashers’ whitened shortly and they’re still all mine.
